Hero Review | Time Tracking, Resource Management
Native Resource Management for Salesforce
As organizations grow, managing people, projects, and capacity becomes increasingly complex. Knowing who is available, who is overbooked, and whether upcoming work can be delivered often means juggling spreadsheets or disconnected applications.
Resource Hero brings resource management directly into Salesforce, giving organizations a single place to plan resources, forecast availability, track utilization, and manage workloads without leaving the platform. Because it’s built natively on Salesforce, your teams work with the same data that’s already driving your sales, projects, and customer relationships.
In Resource Hero, a Resource represents a person that can be assigned to forecast their time and submit actual hours against something like a project.

How Resource Hero Performs Based on The Better List Criteria
Feature Rich Configuration
Resource Hero is built natively on Salesforce, so it automatically gains all the benefits of the platform. This also means there’s no fancy integration requirements to get the data in your source of truth, Salesforce.
Resource Hero’s application includes a number of pre-built reports that measures utilization, forecasted time vs actual time, and more. These reports use the custom resource Hero object relationship toa ny standard or custom object. The can also be used as the example for how to build your own reports for any of the object need to track time on.
One of the things I love about Resource Hero is the flexibility. You can enable and of the features, like time tracking, on standard objects and all custom objects. This means you can use the system across the platform to track how much time people are spending on everything from account management and sales to projects and administration.
Cost / Benefit
Resource Hero delivers strong value for organizations that need robust resource management without the cost and complexity of a traditional Professional Services Automation platform.
Costs per license are very transparent and visible on their AppExchange listing. Licenses are only needed for users actively working within Resource Hero, many organizations can control costs while still giving leadership access to reporting through Salesforce.
When improved forecasting, balanced workloads, and higher resource utilization are considered, the investment can quickly pay for itself through more efficient project delivery and better operational visibility.
Look Before You Leap
We always appreciate vendors that make it easy to evaluate their products before asking customers to commit.
Resource Hero offers a free trial, personalized demonstrations, and implementation services that help organizations get up and running quickly. Their Quick Start offerings and Office Hours provide additional guidance for organizations that want expert assistance during implementation.
Multi-User Capabilities
Each user who needs to be submitting actual time will need to have a Resource Hero license. In some circumstances, you may need to forecast someone’s time, but not need them to submit actual hours. In this scenario a single Resource Hero can create the assignments and forecasts for multiple people without purchasing a license for each person.
This feature means that Resources are not limited to Salesforce Users. Organizations can schedule employees, contractors, vendors, equipment, or even generic resource pools, providing flexibility that many businesses require as they grow.
Strong Community Value
A great application is supported by more than just good software.
Resource Hero provides customers with extensive documentation, implementation guides, release notes, webinars, FAQs, and technical resources that make both onboarding and long-term administration easier.
For Salesforce administrators, having detailed documentation available means less time searching for answers and more time delivering value to the organization.
Responsive Customer Support
For the times when the copious material doesn’t answer the question, you can rest assured their support will be able to help you. Every time I’ve reached out to the Resource Hero team I’ve been blown away not just by the fast response, but how they go above and beyond the specific question I asked about.
There’s been then one instance where I reached out to Resource Hero, not expecting a response for a day or two and received a response almost immediately.
Our Take
Resource Hero is an excellent example of why native Salesforce applications often provide the best long-term value. Instead of introducing another disconnected platform, it extends Salesforce with sophisticated resource planning, forecasting, and utilization management while remaining highly configurable.
The flexibility of their application makes it easy to use across Salesforce. Combined with their great online resources, customer support, and ease-of-use Resource Hero is a true gem.
For consulting firms, professional services organizations, implementation teams, non-profits, and any business that depends on efficiently scheduling people and resources, Resource Hero offers a practical and scalable solution. Its combination of native Salesforce architecture, flexible configuration, thoughtful implementation support, and accessible pricing makes it an easy addition to The Better List.
